Enabling Transfer in BC

The BC Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT) was established by the provincial government in 1989, charged with the mandate to provide system leadership and direction by facilitating transfer, articulation, and admission arrangements among autonomous post-secondary institutions.

BCCAT achieves this mandate through its consultative approach in undertaking a variety of responsibilities, including providing support for BC institutions, developing policies, coordinating research, managing transfer projects, and providing web-based resources to support BC students in their education planning.

Funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education, the Council operates as an arms-length body fostering inter-institutional collaboration to enable an accessible and responsive BC Transfer System.
